On Sunday, November 27th, the Savolskis - Wasik - Glenn Funeral Home held its annual Holiday Memorial Service at St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Munhall The event was attended by 200 people who came to remember their loved ones at the start of the Christmas season. Guests lit candles at the front of the church which contained a photo and the name of their loved ones prior to the start of the service at. The funeral home staff conducted the service which was emceed by Dave Wasik. Bible readings were offered by Ben Perovich and Paul Urban followed by meditations by Fr. Nick Mastrangelo of St. Therese R.C. Church and Fr. Dan Sweeney, pastor of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church. The names of the deceased were read by Michael Perovich and Wayne Collins at which time an ornament was given to family members in remembrance of them. A remembrance litany was offered by Alisha Metz and Dotty Wasik read the poem, "My First Christmas in Heaven". Musical arrangements were conducted by Tome Coyne on keyboard and Nick Saunders accompanied on the violin. Tom Coyne also provided the vocals. This was the most beautiful service yet and we at SWG would like to thank all the participants for making it a memorable event.
