Age 93, of New Homestead, daughter of the late Timothy and Agatha Yeschenko of Ukraine died on March 15, 2017 at Canterbury Place in Pittsburgh, PA. Anne was born in West Virginia and grew up in New Homestead, PA where she attended Hays Elementary and Taylor Allderdice High School. She was the youngest of five siblings, Stephen (Jule), Mary Ferchak (Andrew), Alex (Velma) and John (Olga), all deceased. She was married in California to David P. Verbanick of West Homestead in 1948 until his death in 2012. She is survived by her children David E. (Karen), Richard (Patti), Mark (Patty), Anthony (Debbie) and Laurel (John) DiBrog and her grandchildren David D., Erin, Nicole, Kalyn, Richard, Carrie, Megan, Stephen, David, Kimberly and Adrianne; and her 10 great grandchildren.
Anne was a teacher at Salinger’s Dress Design in Pittsburgh and San Francisco. She later was a seamstress at Fashion Spear in Braddock before opening her own successful dress design and seamstress shop in Homestead. She was a devout Catholic and was the president of the Christian Mothers Guild at St. Ann’s Church in Homestead. She had many interests including gardening, crafting, line dancing, crossword puzzles and cards. In the last few years she was a resident of Atria South Hills Senior Living Center where she competed fiercely in Scrabble and Bingo.
Anne lived a full life. She loved her large family, enjoyed traveling and her best friends were those she had since high school. Her selfless qualities and her strength of character will never be forgotten.
Friends received Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, Saturday 6 to 9 pm and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass Monday, 11:00 am, St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Homestead. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 310 Fisk Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201.
