Carol Joan Evans

Of West Mifflin, on April 12, 2018, age 78.  Loving mother of Kimberly Michelle Evans; devoted grandmother of Alexis Nicolle Zak; daughter of the late John and Louise (Kubasak) Evans; also survived by many cousins and friends.  Carol was a graduate of Munhall High School and received her bachelors’ degree from Duquesne University.  She was a Social Studies teacher for West Mifflin Area School District retiring with over 35 years of service and enjoyed her career as a teacher and influencing many young lives.  In her retirement, she enjoyed boating, fishing and NASCAR races with her partner, John Verlich.  Carol was an artist, enjoyed reading and was a dog lover, especially Afghan Hounds, Dobermans and Poodles which she had as pets.  Friends received Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, Friday 6 to 9 pm and Saturday 11 am to 2 pm at which time a celebration of her life will be held by friends and family.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Animal Rescue, Attn: Donation Dept., 6926 Hamilton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15208.
