David J. Monkelis, Sr.

Age 64 of West Mifflin on July 25, 2015.  Beloved husband of Diana (Leger) Monkelis; loving father of the late David J. (Sharon survives) Monkelis, Jr.; brother of Denise (Mark) Foley and Family; Patricia (Michael) Romzy and the late Michael (Rita Monkelis Szalkay) Monkelis; uncle of James Monkelis, Kathleen (Allen) Majewski and Family, Carrie (Robert) Moelber and Family, Robert (Lisa) Monkelis and Family, Jonathon (Sara) Monkelis and Family and Timothy Szalkay; son-in-law of Joyce Robes; brother-in-law of David Robes; grandfather of Joshua Bonacci and Sydney Monkelis; lifetime friend of Elizabeth and Theodore Busche and Mary Rocco.  David was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and was a nature lover with a special affinity for the Florida Gulf Coast.  Friends will be received at the Savolskis - Wasik - Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, Tuesday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., a Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at St. Therese of Lisieux Church, Munhall at 11:30 a.m.
