Edward A. Manfredi

Of West Mifflin, on April 29, 2016, age 86.  Beloved husband of 63 years of Alice (Bernd) Manfredi; son of the late Vincent and Philomena (Chiaino) Manfredi; father of Edward V. (Judith) Manfredi and the late Vincent Manfredi; brother of the late Sylvia Majkut, Raymond and Nicholas Manfredi; brother-in-law of Anna Mae Vamos, Mary Lou (Joe) Falce and Gertrude Senich; grandfather of Christina (Robert) McKinley, Michelle Manfredi, Jessica Manfredi and the late Angela Manfredi; great-grandfather of Jameson John McKinley; also survived many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Edward was an Army Veteran serving during Korea, retired after 38 years of service as a furnace operator in the Polishing Mill of LTV Steel, Director of Recreation for West Mifflin Borough, Democratic Committee member in West Mifflin for over 50 years, served on West Mifflin Borough Council in the early 2000’s, member of the West Mifflin Lions Club for over 35 years and received numerous awards including the Melvin Jones Award and the Distinguished Service Counselors Award.  He was the #1 fan of his granddaughters' high school and college basketball and soccer games and was a proud supporter of West Mifflin School District and Serra Catholic Athletics and West Mifflin Borough Politics.  Ed was a hero to many through his numerous acts of kindness and service and touched many peoples’ lives because of it.  Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the West Mifflin Lions Club.  Friends received Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, Saturday 5 to 9 pm and Sunday 2 to 8 pm.  Funeral Mass Monday, 10:00 am, Holy Angels Church, Hays, where he was a lifelong member.
