James J. Beserock

Of Munhall, on December 4, 2017, age 65.  Son of the late Joseph and Anna Beserock; beloved husband of 42 years of Sharon (Pryor) Beserock; loving father of Jennifer (Patrick) Doering, Karin (Kevin) Gossett and Kimberly (Robert) Colasante; brother of Joanne (Joe) Clark; grandfather of Stephen, Therese, Gregory, Gabriel, Maria and Arturo; also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family.  Jim served the Munhall Community as a patrol officer beginning in 1976 and retired in 2003 as the chief of police.  He was one of the first certified crime prevention officers in Allegheny County as well as being one of the original members of the Attorney Generals Narcotics Task Force in the mid 80's.  He helped start the first neighborhood watches and block parent program in Munhall in the early 1980's  He was a devout Catholic and had a particular devotion to praying for the poor souls in purgatory.  Jim was also a renowned practical joker and is expected to appear on April Fool's Day for many years to come.  Family and friends will be received at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall on Friday 5-8 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be Saturday, 1:00 PM at St. Therese Church, Munhall.
