Of West Mifflin, age 83 years, departed peacefully on May 25, 2015. Beloved and devoted husband of the late Helen E. (DiLucia) Kormosh; beloved and devoted father of Matthew J. Kormosh, Lynn (Kormosh) Sullivan, and Joseph M. Kormosh; brother of Dorothy Jean (Kormosh) Haberle; son of the late Mary and Joseph “Ike” Kormosh; also survived by four beautiful and beloved grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Joseph was born May 24, 1932 and attended Munhall High School. Joseph joined the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and U.S. Army Reserves in 1948 as Private E2 and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He served at the Nike Ajax and Nike Hercules missile battery as Commander, and received numerous honors, commendations and medals. He retired as Lieutenant Colonel. Joseph also retired from Motor Coils Inc., in Braddock, Pennsylvania, and was proprietor of K&K Maintenance. Joseph was a recipient of the Pilgrim Award from the Loyal Order of Moose. Joseph was a parishioner at Resurrection Church in West Mifflin, member of the American Legion Post 0915, Life Member of Homeville Volunteer Fire Co. #1, Life Member of Thompson Run Athletic Association and the Loyal Order of Moose-Lodge #60. Joseph wishes his family, friends, military associates, grass cutting customers, and all others good luck and health, and prayed for God’s blessing for all of you.
