Mary Pivarnik went home to be with the Lord , Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Friendship Ridge Nursing Center, Brighton Township.
Born December 17, 1924, in West Homestead, PA where she lived until 2010, she was the loving daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Beres) Pivarnik. Mary was preceded in death by her brothers Joseph, Michael, and John Pivarnik; sisters Margaret (McDowell) and Sister Helen Pivarnik CDS and a niece Mona McDowell.
Mary is survived by two nephews and their families, J. Mike and Annamarie Pivarnik, Columbus, OH and J. Thomas Pivarnik, New Brighton, PA; and one niece, Sandra Durbin, Ellwood City, PA and her family.
Mary was a devoted member of St. Maximillian Kolbe Church, Homestead, PA, and the former St. Michael’s Church West Homestead, PA. At the former St. Michael’s, Mary was a member of the church choir, Christian Mothers, and Michaelaires and had taught CCD there. At St. Maximillian Kolbe’s, Mary was a member of the Lady’s Guild and the Senior Group. She was also a member of OASIS.
Family and friends will be received at the Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home Inc., on Friday 9:30 am until the time of the Blessing Service at 11 AM. Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, West Mifflin.
