Leland P. Scheerschmidt, of Pittsburgh, on April 25, 2020. Age 77. Son of the late Paul Robert and Lucille (Strong) Scheerschmidt. Beloved Husband to the late Genevieve A. (Gryzb) Scheerschmidt. Beloved companion to Gloria M. Snyder. Father of Dorothy Ann (John) Snyder. Grandfather to Thomas, Mallory, Daniel and Benjamin Snyder. Also survived by his niece Theresa Traud, nephew Randy Traud and grandchildren Michael Metosky and Krystal Smith. Also survived by Toby and preceded in death by Scruffy, his beloved dogs. Leland was a truck driver who obtained many awards in his career. Leland was the neighborhood's handy man. If someone needed help with any home repairs he was always willing to lend a hand and worked tirelessly from morning until night until he completed the task at hand for you. He did some amazing home remodeling. He could take two sticks and could build a house with it and everyone would think the house was beautiful. He also helped people with their car repairs and children with their bike repairs. Leland did this all free of charge and with a smile on his face. Leland loved his grandchildren and often joked around with them and his grandchildren equally adored him.
