Of Munhall and formerly of Beechview, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 16, 2018 in Jefferson Hospital, age 87. Beloved husband of the late Thelma (Martin) Sargo; father of Paul (Cindy) Sargo and Carol Ann (John) Decroo; grandfather of Lindsey (Michael) Cortese, Evan Sargo, Bradley (Jen) Decroo and Justin (Nicole) Decroo; great grandfather of Charlotte Cortese, Chloe, Nate and Blake Decroo; brother of Helen (late William) Dawson and the late Rosemarie (late Adam) Colaizzi and Josephine (late Jack) Martin; uncle of Donna, Stephanie and Kristin Kaelin. Dom was born on January 21, 1931 to the late Paul and Angeline Sargo. He also was the stepson of the late Fred Gelsi. Dom served his country in the Army during the Korean War in Munich, Germany. Dominic worked for the B and O Railroad Co. and the former Heppinstall Steel Mill in Lawrenceville, but spent the majority of his working career at the Rock Beer Distributing Co. Master Wholesalers of Rolling Rock for Pittsburgh and Washington county areas for over 30 years. Based on the Northside, Dom was the working warehouse foreman and also the overall company manager in the 1960’s and 1970’s. The company was also wholesalers for Koehler Stoney’s, National Boehemian, St. Paul and Fosters beers. Dom retired in 1993 from the Tony Savatt Co. Dominic’s family would like to thank the staff of Dr. Martin Earle at the UPMC Cancer outpatient center in West Mifflin and also the ICU unit and the 4 northeast oncology floor at Jefferson Hospital for all of their kindness and care. Family and friends will be received at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall on Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
