Michael T. Perovich

Supervisor

Michael has been with SWG since 1988. He grew up in Trafford, PA and is a graduate of Greensburg Catholic High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree and post graduate studies from Gannon University. After his marriage to wife,  Donna Wasik, he attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and joined the team at Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home. Michael resides in Munhall and is the father of three children, Ben, Rachel and Hannah and the proud grandfather of Lexi, Holden, Walker, Sebastian, and Maisie. He is a resident of the Steel Valley and is a member of the Homestead Elks and Homestead Lions Club.  Michael enjoys watching professional football, high school basketball, reading about history and travel. He is a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Church in Munhall. and St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Homestead.

Alisha M. Guckes-Metz

Alisha M. Guckes-Metz

Funeral Director, Aftercare Director, Notary Public

Alisha has been with SWG since 2009.  She is a lifelong resident of the Steel Valley and now resides in West Mifflin with her husband, Chad and her sons, Logan Glenn and Zachary Charles. She is a graduate of Steel Valley High School,  California University of Pennsylvania with a bachelors degree in Biology and minor in dance, and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.  She is a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Homestead and a member of the Homestead District Lions Club.  As part of her mission as aftercare director, she has been able to plan and hold her annual Ladies Spring Tea, which she is honored to be a part of and help the women of her community. Alisha's love is tap dancing and she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her two boys.

Benjamin Wasik Perovich

Benjamin Wasik Perovich

Funeral Director

Ben has been part of the SWG family his whole life.  He is a 6th generation funeral director and is the son of Michael. He resides in Munhall and is a graduate of Steel Valley High School,  The International Academy of Design and Technology, and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.  He is a member of St. Therese Church of Lisieux in Munhall.  Ben is the loving husband of Camila and proud father of his son, Holden and daughter Maisie.  In his spare time Ben enjoys playing guitar, watching the Pittsburgh Penguins and spending time with family and friends

Kyra C. Mangold-Ostovich

Kyra C. Mangold-Ostovich

Funeral Director, Certified Celebrant

Kyra has been a licensed funeral director serving families in the South Hills since 2015. She is a lifelong resident of the Steel Valley and currently resides in Liberty Boro with her husband, Adam. She is a graduate of Steel Valley High School, the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors degree in Physical Anthropology, and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. As a Certified Celebrant, Kyra is able to hand-craft personalized funeral services for families that wish to celebrate the life and legacy of their loved one. In her spare time, Kyra enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, gardening, and is a member of the Homestead Cemetery Board.

Thomas B. Barefoot

Thomas B. Barefoot

Funeral Assistant, Notary Public

 Thomas started with SWG in 2021 and functions as the Notary Public at the funeral home. He is currently pursuing his degree in mortuary science to become a funeral director over the next few years.  He is a native of West Homestead and currently lives in Munhall. Thomas is a graduate of Steel Valley High School and has a master’s degree in History from the University of Akron. Prior to coming to work at SWG, Thomas spent two years in Ukraine as part of the United States Peace Corps, teaching English at the Precarpathian National University. He is an avid reader, gardener, and cyclist, as well as dabbling in writing fiction and practicing archery.
