Age 93, of Jacksonville, FL, formerly of Wilkins Township and Munhall, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Sunrise of Jacksonville. She died peacefully while holding her granddaughter, Debbie’s hand. She was born February 4, 1925, in Homestead, PA, daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Bires) Yacko. Mildred was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who deeply treasured her family. Mildred’s generosity, strength, and pride in her family brought her great joy. She was a member of Saint Therese Catholic Church in Munhall, PA. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, John DiSilvestro; two brothers: John Fedorko and Albert Yacko; and four sisters: Helen Schreiner, Annie Tokey, Margaret Nedzinski, and Mary Yacko. Mildred is survived by her son, Robert (Christina) DiSilvestro of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Eleanor Yacko of Penn Hills; three grandchildren: Mark (Lauren) DiSilvestro, Debra DiSilvestro, Caryn (Jason) Raiford, and Marla Peterman, who was loved like a granddaughter; four great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Jalyn, Alexandra, and Aliyah. Friends and family will be received on Monday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 3501 Main Street, Munhall. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, 11:00 am, Saint Therese Catholic Church, Munhall, officiated by Reverend Albert Zapf. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in the Mausoleum.
