Age 90 of Union City, PA, discovered the mysteries of heaven when he died peacefully on June 26, 2018.
He was predeceased by his wife, Florence, after 61 years of devoted marriage. They graduated from Munhall High School, married, and raised their family in West Mifflin, PA.
Steve retired from the US Steel Corporation, Homestead Works after 42 years of service, and was a proud veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard.
He spent as much time as possible outside: hunting and fishing with his brothers, nephews, and son, boating on Canadohta Lake, and caring for the flora and fauna surrounding his home there.
Steve was a deeply faithful Catholic. His children, Florence and John Bartolini, Stephanie and Charlie Hager, Steve and Mary Stupar, and Annette and Don Gabrelcik, will miss his devotion to praying constantly for the needs of his family.
He delighted in the mayhem and mischief of his grandchildren and great grandchildren: Jen and Jeff Donahoe (Lucy, Ben), John and Tina Bartolini (John, Giuliana), Leslie and Mike Bencivenga (Luke, Sam, Zach), Brian and Courtney Hager, Patrick and Sarah Hager (Miles), Beverly and Cody Johnson, Becky and Rolando Vega, Steve and Ali Stupar (Sam), Donnie and Nick Gabrelcik.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, July 1 from 1 to 8 pm at Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 3501 Main Street, Munhall.
Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 2 at 10 am at Resurrection Church, 1 Majka Drive, West Mifflin.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Gulfside Hospice of Florida and LECOM/VNA of Erie County.
