Anna A. Klinger Obituary

Anna A. Klinger, of Munhall, passed away peacefully with her two daughters by her side on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024.

She was born to the late John and Veronica (Sarosiova) Stupar, both of Slovakia. Growing up, Anna attended St. Michael's School in Homestead, and was a lifelong member of Zenska Jednota. She was proud to serve as a Red Cross nurse during WWII, and received recognition for her outstanding performance securing blood donors. She met her husband, Edward A. Klinger of the Southside, at Nabisco where she worked in the Sample room. They married on June 4, 1946. After their marriage, they lived in Munhall where Anna resided for 78 years.

She enjoyed all of the Pittsburgh sports teams, crocheting, Holiday decorating, baking her Slovak goodies, flowers, and going to church at St. Therese of Lisieux Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish on Main Street, in Munhall.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, on March 31, 1994; as well as her siblings, John Stupar, Helen Benjock, Mary Cherwak, Margaret Dudek, and Agnes Kenhart; and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Anthony) Klinger-Lombardo and Cynthia Klinger; as well as generations of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, April 4, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 5, 10 AM, at the St. Therese of Lisieux Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Munhall. Entombment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum, Pittsburgh.
