Bernadette A. "Bernie" (Despot) Richards

Bernadette A. "Bernie" Richards (Despot), wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandma, and avid slots player. Bernie passed away peacefully at home on January 17, 2023, at the age of 98.

Bernie is proceeded in death by her husband, Clarence "Lou" Richards; her parents, Anthony and Anna (Frederick) Despot; and her six siblings, Rita Monaghan, Margaret Sapos, John Despot, George "Rusty" Despot, Lawrence Despot, and Lorraine "Bebe" Despot. Bernie enjoyed spending time with her family, whom she loved so much. Bernie was loved by everyone she met, and always left you with a smile or laugh.

She also enjoyed her trips to the casinos, Bingo, watching Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune (solving nearly every puzzle!).

Bernie is survived by her five children, Lloyd (Terrie) Richards, Wayne (Eva) Richards, Brian Richards, Denise (Chuck) Hertzler, and Dennis (Andy) Richards; six grandchildren, Danielle, Stefanie, Katrina, Michael, Elizabeth, and Missy; and four great-grandchildren, Amanda, Kaylee, Brielle, and Samir.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 23, 10 AM, at St. Joseph Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Duquesne. Interment will follow at Richland Cemetery, Dravosburg.
