Beverly Cavacini Obituary

Beverly Ann (Vangura) Cavacini, 74, a longtime resident of Harmar, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2019, surrounded by love.   Born August 12, 1945, in Braddock Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late John Joseph and Helene (Bache) Vangura.  Her beloved Enzo Acquafondata and their animals shared 34 beautiful years on their farm together.

Beverly was many things to many people.  She was the youngest sister to her three siblings, the  favorite Aunt Bebe to her many nieces and nephews and a devoted friend, always there when needed for help or a celebration.

After Beverly graduated West Mifflin North High School, she accepted a position with
National Union  Insurance Company in Oakland, PA.  After a year, she left to work for Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Braddock Hills at the Tele-Computer Center.  She spent 31 years with Westinghouse and retired in 2008 when the facility was in their shutdown mode.   After enjoying retirement for 2 years, she decided to return to work.  She accepted a position with the Community Center and Library Association of O’Hara Township for the following 10 years.  And worked a part-time job at JC Penney’s call center taking catalogue orders.  Beverly also volunteered as an usher at the Benedum and Byham Theaters with her friend Sandy Cybulko.

In 1971, she married Thomas Cavacini and together opened the T&C Lunchroom located near the 31st Street Bridge and was widowed in 1984.  Two years later, at a friend’s wedding, she met her sweetheart, her best friend and partner for life, Enzo and they lived a big, happy, adventurous life.  They both shared the love of adventure, travel and family.  She was a planner of trips:  Italy, Caribbean, Canada, Mexico, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Florida, Arizona, Windjammers, and numerous states taking in their state and county fairs.   Over the years, they raised their pets from goats to sheep to birds to cats.  But her all-time favorite pastimes were sitting on her patio drinking coffee while watching the wildlife on their farm, visiting casinos, knitting and crocheting, playing Pogo on the computer and hanging out with her sister, Loretta and Enzo.

Beverly is survived by her love, Enzo Acquafondata, brothers Ronald (late Carole) and Donald (Ronna) Vangura and her sister, Loretta (late Nick) Theofiledes and many, many nieces and nephews, from Pittsburgh, Florida and Texas.
