Daniel "Danny" Lydon

Daniel Lydon, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Spiddal, Ireland, passed peacefully surrounded by his beloved family on March 28, 2023, at the age of 92.

He was the devoted husband of 59 years of Nora (Lennane) Lydon, whom he loved with all his heart; loving father of Mary (Dave) Kolski, Nora (John) Colucci, Daniel (Renee) Lydon, and the late John (Lori survives) Lydon; cherished grandfather of Christopher and Danny Kolski, Amanda (Lee) Saller, Ryan, and Kaitlyn Colucci, Maura, Joey, Danny, and Lexi Lydon, and Andrew and Samantha Lydon; great-grandfather of Luca, Nico, and Gianna Saller; son of the late Daniel and Bridget (Connolly) Lydon; brother of Mary Kyne and the late Bridget "Bridie" Lydon; and uncle of Mary Theresa Hall, Patrick Kyne, and Bridget Breslin. 

Danny was very proud of his family and adored his grandchildren. He deeply loved his wife with all his heart; he said there was not a prettier woman in the world than her - not even Elizabeth Taylor! He was a kind and gentle soul, who never held a grudge, always giving the benefit of the doubt to the other guy, often saying, “he may be having a bad day.” He was great with plants, and could calm any baby when he spoke. He loved Ireland and was proud of his heritage, and he especially enjoyed a good tune. He was great with wood and putting things together, and could fix everything with a 2x4, WD-40, and duct tape. He had a great sense of humor, and his wit will be greatly missed. He worked for 35 years at Joseph Horne’s warehouse, and never missed a day of work. His faith was immense, and he held an adoration of the Blessed Mother.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 30, 4-8 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 31, 10 AM, at the St. Albert the Great Church of the Blessed Trinity Parish, Pittsburgh. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
