David Gardner

We celebrate the life of David Gardner, who passed away unexpectedly on June 19, 2026, at the age of 65. He was the son of the late Patricia and Albert Gardner of West Mifflin. David touched the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He was the beloved husband of the late David Mensing. They were together for 33 wonderful years prior to David Mensing’s death in November of 2023.

David is survived by his brother Timothy Gardner and Timothy’s wife Donna (Thomas): his devoted sister Loriann (Gardner) Palmer, and her husband Donald J. Palmer. He leaves behind his cherished nephews, Brandon Gardner and his wife Jena Gardner, Elliot (Damian) Gardner, Tanner Gardner, Brian Palmer and Henry Palmer, as well as his great-niece and nephew, Brixton and Finley Gardner.

David graduated from West Mifflin North High School in 1979. He also earned an Associate Degree in Arts from Robert Morris College. Professionally, David used his talents to pursue several careers. He was a flight attendant for USAirways, and a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker and Re/Max. However, it was his role as a Senior Peer Specialist at WPIC at the Mercy site that truly made him most proud. He left a compassionate mark on many lives due to his passion for those with substance use disorders. He received numerous accolades and appreciation for his counseling work.

David was a proud, active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, where  he found support and sponsored others. His quick wit, smile and ability to engage in meaningful conversations made him an invaluable friend to many

Friends and family received Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home Inc., 3501 Main St. Munhall, PA, 15120 on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 10 AM - 1 PM. A blessing service will take place at 1 PM.

David’s family extend their gratitude to Kimberly Fair and her staff for providing support to David during his most difficult time.
