The world is mourning the passing of David A. Mensing, a generous, loving, kind, and loyal human being, who passed away on November 6, 2023, at the age of 60. He was a longtime resident of the Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood in Pittsburgh.
His passing is a tremendous loss! David was a joy to be around; those who were lucky enough to meet him were truly blessed. His humor was intoxicating and his sarcasm superb. He will be missed more than could ever be imagined. Hopefully, a little part of him will live in everyone he touched.
He leaves behind his beloved husband of 33 years, David Gardner; son, Joseph (fiancée, Jessica Tuszynski) Bingham; sister, Judy Theis and her sons, Gabriel, Michael, and Matthew; brother, Stephen (Ruth) Mensing and their sons, Eric and Zach (Courtney); sister-in-law, Lori (Don) Palmer, and their sons, Brian and Henry; brother-in-law, Tim (Donna) Gardner, and their sons, Brandon, Elliot and Tanner; as well as countless friends, neighbors, co-workers, and extended family members.
He was welcomed home by his parents, the late Charles and the late Levonne (Kramer) Mensing.
David worked as a flight attendant for 30 years with American Airlines. Following his retirement, he found joy by working as a cashier with Kuhn's Market in Marshall-Shadeland. He had also worked as a hairdresser and a real estate agent. He was proud of his involvement as a sponsor with AA; he helped guide so many through their journey, and his support will be forever cherished. As the unofficial mayor of Ingham Street, David's smile will be dearly missed by his neighborhood.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 10, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. During this time, guests are encouraged to share their fondest memories of David as a celebration of his life.
