Known to his family and friends as “Del” and “Butch”, he passed away at home on July 6, 2023, age 83. He was the son of the late Delbert Sr. and Mary (Ribnicky) Keener. He was the devoted husband of almost 60 years to Patricia (Ostrowski) Keener; loving father of Lisa (Rich) Kotar and Rebecca (Joe) Evanchak; brother of Rosemary (late Harold) Palmer, Theodore (Carol) Keener, Joanne Hazen, Linda Wunder and the late Kathy McCluskey and Joyce Kashuba; proud grandfather of Jenna (Jeremy) Rosenberry, Sara (Joshua) Brady, Rae Kotar, Emily Evanchak, Julie Evanchak and his great grandchildren, Gabriella Rosenberry and Scott Brady. Brother-in-law of Stanley (Carol) Ostrowski and the late Bernard Ostrowski and Mary Ann Ostrowski; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Del was a very proud Veteran of the Navy. He had a variety of hobbies, was an avid golfer and outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and loved mowing his lawn. Del was the definition of a social butterfly, he loved to talk, share stories, tell jokes and help neighbors, especially helping with snow blowing their driveways. But his biggest love of all was his family. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He tried to be involved as much as he could with their lives. He was a simple man with a loving heart and will be forever missed and celebrated by all those who knew him.
