Diane Leigh (Dixon) Drash was born in Washington, North Carolina on October 23, 1941. A longtime resident of Shadyside, she was the daughter of the late Hal Hayworth Dixon and Mildred Leigh (Dixon) Hodges and step father William Gray Hodges. Diane attended Lake Erie College for Women and graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in teaching. She went on to teach in North Carolina and Ohio before moving to Pittsburgh with her husband, Allan L. Drash (August 1943-August 2009), in 1970. There she worked for several years as a realtor, and later a full time homemaker. Diane is survived by her two daughters, Allison L. Drash of Pittsburgh, DeAnn L. Drash of Raleigh, NC and stepson James W. Drash of Cincinnati, OH. Diane was best know as a collector of art and antiques and thrived off the "thrill of the hunt". She had a gift for decorating and design, and especially loved entertaining friends and family at their beach house in Atlantic Beach, NC, where she and Allan first met, and spent most summers thereafter. A private memorial will be held later in the year on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
