Dorothy (Michel) Horensky

Dorothy Horensky, of Lincoln Place, passed away on February 10, 2026, at the age of 99.

She was warmly welcomed home by her beloved husband of 73 years, the late John S. Horensky, Sr. She was mother of the late John "Jack" (Kathy survives) Horensky, Jr,  the late Tom (Kathy survives) Horensky, Gary (Lynne) Horensky, and Debra (Jac Nickoloff) Horensky; she was a loving grandmother to Matt, Brian, Rachel, Philip, Tom, Brielle, Alexa; great-grandmother of Hadley, Trevor, Zachary, Emily, Tyler, Jackson, Levi and Harper; daughter of the late Frank and Julia (Marflak) Michel; and sister of the late Sonny Michel, Margaret "Marge," Charles "Chuck," and Paul Michel. She is also survived by generations of nieces and nephews.

She was a wonderful cook of ethnic ‘old country’ recipes and hosted the most memorable Christmas Eve parties, Easter brunches, and backyard barbecues with family and friends. She was an active member of her ladies’ card club and a longtime participant in several local bowling leagues. For many years, she was also the friendly, familiar face behind the counter at Aber’s Pharmacy in Munhall.

There will be no visitation as per her request. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, 10:30 AM, at the Holy Angels Church of the Blessed Trinity Parish, 408 Baldwin Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15207. Please meet at church. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
