Dorothy M. (Solay) Halaburka

Dorothy M. Halaburka, of Munhall, was welcomed home by her beloved late husband, Thomas E. Halaburka, on December 19, 2024, at the age of 91.

She is survived by her son, Thomas (Shawna) Halaburka, along with their children, Andrew, Jonathon, and Nikolas; daughter, Heather (Michael Guerra) Billa, and her children, Logan, Lance, Luke, and Landon; and sisters, Eleanor (the late Joseph) Borkowski, and Andrea (the late John Hornyak) Solay. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Vilma Bodis, and Andrew and Helen Solay; and sister, the late Elsie Solay.

Dorothy's love of her family and friends knew no bounds - she was dedicated to her extended family, especially the generations of nieces and nephews she helped to raise. No neighborhood child went long without small gifts, treats, or a kind word. Dorothy was a former employee of Mellon Bank in Munhall where she would regularly chat with her community members, and was a proud former President of the Women's Auxiliary of Homestead and Jefferson Hospitals.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 23, 10 AM, at the St. Therese of Lisieux Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Munhall. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh, where she will join the love of her life, Thomas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Charities Diocese of Pittsburgh, 111 Blvd of the Allies, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
