Francis Regis Griffin Sr.

Of West Mifflin, Francis Regis Griffin Sr., passed away on December 25, 2023 at the age of 87. He was born on June 16, 1936 to the late John and Catherine (Quinn) Griffin; he was the beloved husband of 63 years of the late Myra J. (Rogan) Griffin; father of Katherine Becker of Gaithersburg, MD, Francis Regis (Andrea) Griffin Jr. of West Mifflin and the late Paul Alan Griffin; brother of the late Dr. John Griffin and Martin Griffin; loving pap of Kyle Edward Griffin of Squirrel Hill and Audra Elizabeth Griffin of West Mifflin; also survived by nieces and nephews.  Francis was a Veteran of the Marines.  He was a graduate of Duquesne University with a Bachelors Degree in Education and a graduate of West Virginia University with a Masters Degree in Education and was a member of Phi Kappa Fraternity.  He was a teacher for over 30 years in the West Mifflin School District and a dedicated basketball coach in the district for many years as well. Family and friends will be received at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall on Friday December 29th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 30th, 10 AM at St. Agnes Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, West Mifflin.
