Frederick F. Smith

Frederick F. Smith, of Lincoln Place, passed away on November 14, 2024, at the age of 90.

He was the beloved husband of 67 years of the late Josephine A. "JoAnn" Smith; loving father of Gary (Carolyn) Smith, Cynthia (Chris) Meyer, Michael Smith, Jeffrey (Tracy) Smith, and the late Paula Smith and Fred (Betsy survives) Smith; adoring grandfather of Alex and Nicholas (Bridget) Smith, Christopher (Krista Marie) and Chelsea Meyer, Megan Smith, Lauren and Matthew Smith, and Shannon (Randy) Klimek; great-grandfather of Nevaeh, Arlo, Elio, Ellie Josephine, and Landon; son of the late Paul D. and Margaret A. (Seemiller) Smith; brother of Elsie Clark, Joann Cavrak, Paul (Peggy) Smith, Jackie Smith, and the late Phyllis Shortley; also survived by generations of nieces and nephews.

Fred was an avid golfer and bowler, and enjoyed game nights and playing cards with his family and friends at the Whitaker VFW. He was a coach for his sons baseball teams in the LPYAA, and was a member of Teamsters 485 where he served as a Union Rep, the West Mifflin AARP 3172, and the Lions Club. He proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Antietam.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 18, and Tuesday, November 19, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 10:00 AM, at the St. Agnes Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, West Mifflin. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh (Greenfield).
