George J. Lavra

George J. Lavra, of West Mifflin, passed away on January 11, 2025 at the age of 77.

George was the father of Darlene (Adam) Purdy and Joseph (Sarah) Lavra; the brother of Joan Lavra; the grandfather of Katren, Aiden, Abigal, Mason, and Joey. He is preceded in death by his parents; Joseph and Eleanor (Visconti) Lavra.

George was an employee of Giant Eagle Corporation for forty-seven years and was a former Munhall Volunteer Fireman.

Friends and family to be received at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120 on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM. A Panachida Service will be held that evening at 7 PM. A Funeral Service will take place the following day on Friday, January 17, 2025,  at 10 AM at St. Nicholas Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, 903 Ann Street, Homestead, PA 15120. Everyone please meet at church. Interment to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, West Mifflin.
