George D. Andreaco, of Whitaker, passed away on February 22, 2023, at the age of 96. He was the beloved husband of 67 years of the late Irene K. Andreaco (Kohut); loving father of Irene (Gary, Sr.) Antol, George D. “Jut” (Deidre) Andreaco, Jr., and Gregg Andreaco; grandfather of Gary Antol, Jr., Amber (Matt Lucas) Andreaco, Ty (Haleigh) Andreaco, Geremy (Abigail) Andreaco, and Samantha (Bill) Andreaco; great-grandfather of Genevieve; son of the late John and Elizabeth (Mihalian) Andreajco; brother of five late siblings; also survived by nieces and nephews.
George was a member of the St. Rita Men’s Club, and worked as a Scrap Inspector at the Electric Furnace of US Steel, Duquesne Works. He proudly served in the US Army during World War II.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, February 26, 2-4 & 6-8 PM, at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 27, 10 AM, at St. Rita Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Whitaker. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Munhall. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the St. Thomas the Apostle Appalachian Work Camp Fund, C/O St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 363 W. 11th Avenue, Homestead, PA 15120.
