Gerald T. Thiry

Gerald T. Thiry, of Pittsburgh, passed away on July 3, 2026, at the age of 92.

He was the beloved husband of 67 years of Barbara Joanne (Beynon) Thiry; loving father of Lisa (the late Michael) Mszyco, Barbara Ann Thiry, Daniel (Monica) Thiry, Jerry (Erin) Thiry, John Thiry, Fran Thiry, Edward (Michelle) Thiry and Joseph Thiry; treasured grandfather of Michelle (Daniel) Treme, Lindsay (Michael) Gorski, Thomas (Heather) Schlick, Justin (Kate) Thiry, Benjamin (Colleen) Thiry, Evan Thiry, Ryan Thiry, Emily (Owyn) Kolsosky, and Nicolle (JP) Lucas, and Jason Thiry; great-grandfather of Maddox Treme, Declan, Ethan, and Levi Gorski, Colton, Sophia, and Madelyn Schlick, Jack and Sophia Thiry, Sadie and Cullen Thiry, and Tristan and Laina Lucas; son of the late John and Ann (Rickey) Thiry; brother of Patricia (late William) McCracken, Anna (the late James) Byrnes and the late Edward (the late Mary Ann) Thiry, Mary (the late Charles) Manz, Jack (the late Helen) Thiry, Catherine (the late Thomas) Granger, Francis (the late Alyce) Thiry, Robert (the late Barbarba) Thiry, and Dorothy (the late Russell) Segida; also survived by generations of nieces and nephews.

Gerald truly loved his family and cherished every moment he spent with them. He enjoyed his time in Florida with his beloved Joanne following his retirement from J&L Steel.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 9, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 10 at 10 AM at the St. Therese of Lisieux Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Munhall, PA. Interment to follow at Calvery Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
