Harold Woodburn Obituary

Harold W. "Woody" Woodburn, of Pittsburgh, passed away suddenly after a long illness while surrounded by his family on May 3, 2024, at the age of 70.

He was the beloved husband of 48 years of Kathleen (Devine) Woodburn; loving father of Christine (Matthew) Woodburn, Michelle (Mark) Smith, and Michael H. (Katelyn) Woodburn; cherished grandfather of Sophie "Sophielicious" Smith; son of the late John H. and Ethel M. (Harris) Woodburn; and brother of Michael (Pam) Hickey, Ida Kier, and the late Thomas Hickey, Terrance Hickey, and Roseanne Hickey.

Woody was a proud graduate of Munhall High School, Class of 1971; he continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh, Class of 1975, and earned his Masters in Education from Duquesne University in 1996. He was a star basketball player and passionate educator. He spent many years teaching human resources courses at Waynesburg University, and founded his consulting company, Immediate Impact, where he proudly provided executive coaching and mentoring services. Above all else, he most cherished his loving family and enjoyed each and every moment he spent with them.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, May 6, 1-3 & 5-8 pm, at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Committal Service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh, on Tuesday, May 7, 11 AM. Please meet at the Funeral Home at 10 AM. In lieu of any flowers or gifts, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Humane Animal Rescue (humaneanimalrescue.org/donate/) or the Light of Life Rescue Mission (give.lightoflife.org/for/lol/).
