Janet Brennan Obituary

Janet M. Brennan, of Whitaker, was warmly welcomed home by her beloved late husband of 33 years, John T. "Jack" Brennan, on October 15, 2025, at the age of 75.

She was the loving mother of Matthew Brennan and Shelly Hunter; cherished grandmother of Sarah (Eddy) Carey-Cruz, Alisa (Joshua) Myers, Liam Yates, Jennifer (Joseph) Mitchell Sheehan, Nicholas (Jessi) Mitchell, Staff Sgt. Cody Hunter, Ethan (Darra) Hunter, Tyler Krajacic, Malcolm Randolph, Jeremy (Emily) Daughtery, Melissa Daugherty, and Allison (Clay) Daugherty; adoring great-grandmother of Joshua Brennan Myers, Molly Gail Myers, Amelia Jane Sheehan, Luca John Cruz, Jonathan George Myers, and Caldwell and Campbell Myers; step-mother of Denise Daugherty, Stacey Mitchell, and Kathleen Yates; "spirit" mother of Tara Nolan; daughter of the late Michael and Florence (Chury) Margo; sister of Joseph Margo and the late Carol (Steve) Miller; sister-in-law of the late Mary Ann (the late Larry) Pash, Margaret "Peggy" (the late Jim) Kennedy, James J. (Sylvia survives) Brennan, Sr., and Mary Ellen (the late Gary Intheral) Brennan Laskowski; aunt of Michael Margo; cousin of Celeste "Cookie" Chury-Brlas; also survived by a large extended family and many friends.

Janet was a passionate newspaper reporter whose career spanned several respected publications, including the McKeesport Daily News, the Daily Messenger, and as a freelance writer for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Her love for storytelling was matched by her creative spirit-she found great joy in making, displaying, selling, and gifting her handcrafted quillows and other crafts to family and friends. Janet took special pride in her Etsy business, Brennan's Cozy Charms, which allowed her to share her creations with people near and far. Beyond her writing and crafting, Janet was a fierce advocate for animal rescues, dedicating her time and voice to causes close to her heart. She warmly welcomed anyone and everyone into her loving home.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, October 21, 2-4 & 6-8 PM, at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120, where a Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday, October 22, at 10 AM. Janet will join Jack at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh, immediately following the conclusion of the Blessing Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local animal shelter or a rescue of your choice.

Condolences may be left at www.swgfuneralhome.com.
