Jean E. Sullivan, of West Mifflin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 22, 2023, at the age of 91.
She was the beloved wife of 67 years of the late Donald Joseph Sullivan; daughter of the late Emery and Anna (Dudash) Suchta; sister of Emery (Dolores) Suchta; loving mother of Mary Anne (Michael) Donahoe, Daniel Joseph (Kim) Sullivan, Thomas James (Lynn) Sullivan, Susan Elizabeth (Mark) Mszyco, and David John (Rebecca) Sullivan; very proud "Grammy" of 16 grandchildren, including David and Kathleen Donahoe, Liz Hawke, Devon, Tara, and Taylor Sullivan, Kelsey Currie and Patrick Sullivan, Steven (Nadya), Meagan, Daniel, and Zachary Mszyco, and Erin, Rachel, Sean, and Brian Sullivan; and great-grandmother of Elizabeth Currie, Alexis Mszyco, and Grayson Szymanski.
Jean was born in Pittsburgh on October 8, 1931. She graduated from Homestead High School in 1949, where for several years, she sat in front of the boy to whom she was to be married for sixty-seven years. She earned her Nursing degree from the Homestead Hospital School of Nursing in 1952 and worked as a nurse for several years before working full time on raising her children. Jean's family was the joy of her life. She was a devoted wife and mother, and treasured her family time and many activities. Jean was a Brownie leader and Cub Scout den mother. Little League, high school and college sporting, band and theatrical events involving her children and grandchildren were high on her list of activities. She loved books and reading, traveling, and doing craft projects with her 16 grandchildren. The Carnegie Library of Homestead Grand Ball was one of her top interests. Her warm smile and loving heart will be missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 27, 2-4 & 6-8 PM, at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 28, 10 AM, at the St. Therese of Lisieux Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Munhall. Jean will join her beloved husband, Don, at Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh.
