Jenise Wimbs

Jenise Wimbs of Munhall passed away on June 13, 2026 at the age of 45.

Born in Pittsburgh on April 16, 1981, Jenise was the beloved daughter of George (Rene) Wimbs and the late Marcy Wimbs; the granddaughter of the late Louise and Emery Salaj and the  late George Jr. and Dorothy Wimbs.

After graduating from Steel Valley High School in 1999, Jenise attended Carlow University in Pittsburgh.

Jenise was very active in church functions at the St. Maximilian Kolbe Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish until health conditions limited her involvement.

Her affection for animals led her to the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh where she immediately adopted her black and white cat, Ghosty, after forming an instant bond with each other.

Jenise loved Halloween and kept her apartment decorated with Halloween touches throughout the year, bringing joy and warmth to those who knew her.  Purple was her favorite color, and it reflected her vibrant spirit—she often wore it and even dyed her hair purple.  She will be remembered for her love of life’s simple pleasures, especially spending time with her extended family during the holidays, and the happiness she brought to others. Jenise was non-judgmental accepting friends and their differences.

Besides being missed by family members, Jenise will be missed by many friends, including her Parkview Towers Community who welcomed her with opened arms, and lastly her loving cat, Ghosty.

A “Memorial Gathering” will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from  6-8 P.M. in the Meeting Room at the Waterfront Eat and Park on Waterfront Drive in Homestead, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jenise’s name to Humane Animal Rescue Pittsburgh, 1101 Western Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA  15233.
