John R. "Jack" Byrnes, of White Oak, passed away on October 25, 2024, at the age of 73. He was the husband of Pamela (Litman) Byrnes; father of John R. Byrnes, Shane (Nicholle) Byrnes, Jason (Lynn) Byrnes, and the late Joy; step-father of Tony (Jessica) Laurita; grandfather of Kendal and Wyatt Byrnes, Alexander Byrnes, and Heath and Zack Miller; step-grandfather of Holden and Matteo Laurita; son of the late James W. and Elizabeth (Hogg) Byrnes; brother of Patricia (Wayne) Bell, and the late James Byrnes, Jr., Ellen Frances Devey, and Marcy Bakalon; also survived by his best friend, Eddy Popp; faithful German Shepherd companion, Bella; and many other friends and extended family members.
Jack was a proud member of the Marine Corps, and served during Vietnam as a Corporal. He collected trains, matchbox cars, pocket watches, guns, and knives. He loved convertibles and motorcycles, and was a talented artist.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3, 4-8 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. Jack will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, on Monday, November 4, 10 AM, where he will receive full military honors. Please meet at the cemetery no later than 9:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans or the American Cancer Society.
