Joseph F. Koreny

Joseph F. Koreny, of West Mifflin, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by his loving family on October 15, 2023, at the age of 98.

He was the beloved husband of the late Emilia L. Koreny (Korbelic); loving father of Fran (Jack) Walters, Mary Agnes Koreny, Amy (Dennis) Gartland, Rose (Tony) Kostyak, and Jo-Anne (George) Krevy; grandfather of 17; great-grandfather of 15; great-great-grandfather of 6; son of the late George and Mary (Hulanich) Koreny; and brother of the late Dorothy Winwood, Pauline Repasky, Mary Kalna, and Katie Bandur. He is also survived by many generations of nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.

Joe proudly served in the US Army during WWII, and worked at the Homestead Steel Works. He loved playing any and all card games, especially canasta.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2-4 & 6-8 PM, at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, Pennsylvania 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Saturday, October 21, at 10 AM. Inurnment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
