Joshua J. Dawida, of Elizabeth, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away unexpectedly on May 9, 2023, at the age of 31.
He was the son of Mark J. and Susan (Yuhas) Dawida; beloved brother of Jason (Dianna) Dawida; adoring uncle and godfather of Layla Dawida; grandson of Edna and the late Matthew Dawida, and Robert and Shirley Yuhas; nephew of Mike and Audrey Dawida, his godparents, Sandy and the late Davey Bressler, Shelly and Dave Papp, Maria and Ricky King, and Patricia Yuhas; and is also survived by many cousins and a large extended family.
Josh had a louder than life personality, and had a laugh so infectious that you couldn't help but join in the fun. He was a notoriously stealthy "photo-bomber," and would often be found in the background with a silly face slyly aimed at the camera. His bear hugs will be greatly missed..
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and hunting. As a talented archer, Josh proudly shared his passion and skill with his fellow members of the Herminie #2 Game Association, and was always available to help teach new members about the sport. He loved being around his family and friends, and looked forward to his poker and bowling nights.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 12, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Josh's name to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (afsp.org) or by volunteering with the AFSP Western PA Chapter (afspvolunteers.westpa@gmail.com). You may also donate to the Out of the Darkness Pittsburgh Community Walk (afsp.org/pittsburgh).
