Karen Marie Mrazik

Karen M. Mrazik , of West Mifflin, peacefully passed away in the loving embrace of her family on May 1, 2024, at the age of 65, following a fierce battle with cancer. Karen was a true warrior, meeting every diagnosis and appointment with strength, courage, and optimism. She was a rock for so many, and her legacy will live on in those she loved whom she leaves behind.

She was the beloved daughter of Carol (Rago) and the late Michael E. Mrazik; cherished sister of Matthew (Stacey) Mrazik, Christine Mrazik, Terri (Len D'Amico) Mrazik, Jeanie (Dave) Kocinski, and the late David (Sandy survives) Mrazik; treasured aunt of David Matthew and Alex Kocinski, and Rachel and the late Zachary Mrazik; godmother of Eugene "Buddy" (Carolyn) Doyle, as well as her nephew, Zachary; she is also survived by her dear devoted friend, Maureen McConnell; as well as a large extended family.

Karen was a proud graduate of the Taylor Allderdice High School and Duquesne University, where she received her nursing degree. She spent her career taking care of patients at Magee, first in their OB/GYN department, before finding her calling as an oncology nurse. She was a kind, compassionate, and caring nurse - she was a truly devoted advocate for her patients, and cared for each of them dearly. In her free time, she enjoyed skiing, bowling, and shopping. She loved to spend time in Champion, PA on vacation with friends for weekends.

Her family extends their eternal gratitude to Dr. Allison Garrett and her team for their unwavering care and support during Karen's illness.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 3, 2-4 & 6-8 PM, at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 4, 10 AM, at the St. Therese of Lisieux Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Munhall. Interment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Duquesne University School of Nursing.
