Karl J. Koren, of Munhall, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, at the age of 76, while surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Jeanette (McDonald) for 56 years, loving father of his daughters Kristina (Paul) Bodura and Tara (Daniel) Bell, and adoring Pap to his cherished grandchildren Kimberly and Alex Bodura, Ethan and Ava Bell, and son of the late Joseph and Dona (Wieczenski) Koren. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather.
Karl was a proud member of the U.S. Air Force and had a fulfilling career as an insurance salesman for 40 years. His passions were many, and he lived life with enthusiasm, whether on the golf course, casting a line while fishing, enjoying his favorite casino games, or listening to music through his Alexa, and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.
For the past two years, Karl fought bravely against Glioblastoma, a relentless brain tumor, never losing his strength or his spirit. His battle with this disease was a testament to his courage, but ultimately, he lost the fight.
Karl is also survived by his uncle, Don (late Sue) Wieczenski, brother-in-law, Tim (Linda) McDonald and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Cheri (Jim) Magdic and brother-in-law Dave (Diane) McDonald.
Above all, Karl's dedication to his family was unwavering, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His best friend and wife of 56 years will miss him dearly.
The family would like to thank Bridges Hospice for their care and support during this difficult time.
