Kevin J. "Kace" Kacin

Kevin J. "Kace" Kacin, age 68, of Munhall, passed away peacefully after a 2 year battle with lymphoma on July 18, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late John and Kathleen (O'Toole) Kacin on June 10, 1954. He was the beloved husband for nearly 40 years and best friend to Cindy (Pokrifka) Kacin; loving father of Jen (Andie) Kacin; brother of Jeff Kacin, and the late John and Jackie Kacin; brother-in-law to Mary Ann (Kevin) O'Toole, Joe (Lynn) Pokrifka, and Annette (Rick) Capp; also survived by nieces, nephews, and many godchildren.

Kace grew up in Homestead, PA, and was an avid basketball player at Bishop Boyle High School. He turned his passion for playing sports as a kid into a lifelong passion for coaching youth sports. Whether it was basketball, softball or soccer, he was always ready to coach. He spent 38 years working for the United States Post Office, delivering mail out of Homestead for 36 years. His kind, loving disposition and smile could light up a room, and led him to make many friends. Between coaching and delivering mail, there were very few places that he went without running into someone he knew. After retiring from the Post Office, he enjoyed traveling to the beach with his wife, going on lunch adventures with his “brother” Rick, and eating ice cream. Kace was a big dreamer with a big heart. He spent time as a volunteer for the Blind and Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh and the St. Joe's food bank in McKeesport

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 20, 6-8 PM and Thursday, July 21, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 22, 11 AM, at St. Therese Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Munhall. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will follow at the St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, West Mifflin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
