Leslie D. "Les" McClelland

Leslie D. "Les" McClelland, of Munhall, passed away on May 25, 2022, at the age of 78.

He was the loving Father of Michael David, Erin Rosemary, and Jason David McClelland. He was born to Lillian (Krainz) McClelland on Pittsburgh’s North Side and was an Oliver High School graduate. Les served his country in the U.S. Army during the 1960’s in Okinawa, Japan. He would later return home and work for C.A. Turner in Swissvale, PA where he would meet Susan Aubele, and the two later wed in 1973. They originally settled in Swissvale, but after Michael was born, moved to the big yellow brick house on Hulton Road in Penn Hills. Although Les and Susan divorced in the early 1980's, their three children remained paramount together. 

Les spent his career working in industrial sales across Western Pennsylvania. It is in this field where he would meet his best bud of 40+ years, Garry Leech. In his later years, Les would meet Audrey Kamensky, and the two remained great companions until his death. 

In addition to his three children, Les is survived by his former spouse, Susan; son- in-law David Komorowski; daughters-in-law, Sara McClelland and Runny McClelland; and granddaughter, Sunnie. He is also survived by his extended families of the Aubele’s, Komoroski’s, and Grabner/Advent’s. 

We all have so many great memories of our time with Les. The weekends, vacations, dogs, road trips, hockey, Colorguard Fridays, meals together, Easter, DC Cherry blossoms, those window shattering sneezes of his, and so many others. We will never forget his kindness, his laughter and infectious smile. 

The family asks that in lieu of flowers or any donations, to be kind and smile to others, the way Les always did. 

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday,  June 1, 3-6 PM, with a Memorial Service following at 6 PM, at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120.
