With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Lucille B. "Sis" Borza, who peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the age of 89.
Lucy’s kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She devoted her life to her family and found great joy in creating cherished memories with her children, grandchildren, and loved ones.
Born to the late Vincent and Helen (Babyak) Rackauskas on January 25, 1937, in Braddock, Pennsylvania, Lucy lived a life marked by compassion, strength, and generosity. She was the beloved wife of 24 years of the late Michael Borza. She is survived by her sister, Annette (Russell) Earl; her children, Nancy Borza, Michael (Beth) Borza, and Thomas (Melanie) Borza; her grandchildren, Dennis (Lauren) Florian, Jennifer (Justin) Seemann, Hannah (Justin) Steele, Dean Borza, Sam Borza, Mike Borza, and Kate Borza; her great-grand children, Grayson Florian and Marlow Borza; and her many nieces and nephews all of whom will forever treasure her memory. She was preceded in death by her brother, Vincent “Butch” (Sharon, surviving) Rackauskas; her granddaughter, Shelley Florian; her nephew, Christopher Earl.
Lucy enjoyed cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins, relaxing on the porch swing, tending her garden, creating personalized cards for her family, spending quiet evenings working on sudoku puzzles, and, most of all, cherished visits from her loved ones. She dedicated many years to a fulfilling career in nursing and later assisted her son Tom with his business.
She loved staying active, keeping busy, and being involved in the lives of those around her. Whether through her comforting words, home-cooked meals, warm hugs, or thoughtful advice, Lucy made everyone feel welcomed and loved. Her enthusiasm for life inspired those around her, and her legacy of love, resilience, and family values will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. Though our hearts are saddened by her loss, we are grateful for the years we shared with her and the lessons she taught us. Her love will remain with us always, and her memory will be cherished forever.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 19, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Blessing Service will conclude Friday's gathering at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be left at www.swgfuneralhome.com.
