Of West Mifflin, Marcy passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, at the age of 62, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Joanna (Berta) and the late Anthony Marchilena; beloved wife of 17 years to Roderick Anderson; and devoted sister to Michael (Amber) Marchilena. She was a loving aunt to Natalie Corona, Anthony Marchilena, and Mickalee “Mimi” Marchilena, and granddaughter of the late Josephine and Anthony Marchilena, and Joan and John Berta. Marcy was also a dear best friend to Amy Rodger and a devoted cat mom to Romeo and Juliet. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and coworkers who will remember her with love.
Marcy devoted over 40 years of her life to nursing at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where she served with dedication in the kidney transplant unit, the ICU, and the Trauma ICU. A proud graduate of Carlow College, she built a career defined not only by clinical excellence but by deep compassion and unwavering commitment. Marcy mentored countless nurses and physician assistants, always leading with patience, wisdom, and kindness.
She had the true heart of a caregiver—generous to a fault, always putting others before herself, and committed to ensuring that everyone around her felt supported and cared for. Her dedication extended far beyond the hospital walls. She lovingly spoiled her nieces and nephews, cherished her family, and was an avid animal lover who consistently supported local shelters and never turned away a stray in need.
Marcy remained devoted to helping others, continuing to put her patients and colleagues ahead of herself. Her selflessness, strength, and compassion will leave a lasting legacy. Family and friends are welcome at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, on Sunday, May 3rd, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held the following day, Monday, May 4th, 11:30 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Homestead. Memorial contributions may be made to an animal shelter or to Ovarian Cancer Research, in memory of Marcy. Condolences may be left at www.swgfuneralhome.com.
