Michael George Zegar

Michael G. Zegar, of Munhall, formerly of Swissvale, passed away on April 5, 2026, at the age of 94.

He was the beloved husband of the late Frances M. (Falchetti) Zegar; loving father of Valerie (Raymond) Prosser, Robert (Nancy) Zegar, and Catherine (Jeffrey) Hunter; adoring grandfather of Jacob, Steven, and Katie Prosser, Allison (Nick Tortorici), Thomas (Audrey), and Matthew Zegar, and Ryan and Ethan Hunter; son of the late John and Cecelia (Grubić) Zegar; brother of the late Agnes, Elizabeth, Dorothy, and Joe; also survived by generations of nieces and nephews. 

Michael enjoyed attending dog races at Wheeling Downs, and would often watch Caitlin Clark, women's basketball, and tennis matches. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Adrian Visoiu, Lona, and the rest of the Benedum Geriatric Center team; the floor nurses of 12-E at UPMC Mercy Hospital; and the Whitehall Post Acute Care team for their unwavering care and support. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, April 8, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday April 9, 10 AM, at the St. Therese of Lisieux Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Munhall.
