Michael R. "Monk" Matus, Jr.

Michael R. "Monk" Matus, Jr., of Whitaker, passed away on September 22, 2023, at the age of 82.

He was the beloved husband of 53 years of Patricia (Walko) Matus; loving father of Kristy (Peter) Giglione; adoring grandfather of Addison and Paige Giglione; son of the late Michael R. and Elizabeth (Butko) Matus; brother of John (Maureen) Matus and the late George (Shirley survives) Matus; brother-in-law of Belle Kline and Stephanie (David) Armstrong; also survived by generations of nieces and nephews.

Michael was an owner and partner of the Allegheny Professional Insurance Agency. He was a proud member of the Homestead Slavs Club.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, September 24, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Panachida Service will conclude the evening's visitation at 7:45 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 25, 10 AM, at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cathedral, Munhall. Interment to follow at St. John's Cathedral Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Munhall.
