Olga Henderson Obituary

Olga Henderson passed away in Marietta, GA on the morning of May 23, 2025, at the age of 102.

She was born in Munhall, PA on January 12, 1923, the first child of Anna and Andrew Foster. She grew up on Marigold Street with her parents, her brother, Johnny, and her two sisters, Emily and Mamie. After graduation from high school, Olga took a secretarial position with the Westinghouse Corporation, where she worked for nine years.

In 1950 she married her husband, Wilson "Skip" Henderson. They bought a house on Woodhill Drive where they lived for 60 years. Skip passed away in 2011, and Olga continued to live in their home until November 2020, when she made the decision to move to Marietta GA, to be closer to family.

Olga was very involved in the life of her church, St. Nicholas Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, and she served as President of the local AARP group for many years. Throughout her life she enjoyed playing cards with her girlfriends, bowling, going to Wildwood, NJ with family for summer vacations, taking bus trips with Skip and their many friends, and going to visit her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Anna (Balog) and Andrew Foster; her brother, John Foster; and her sisters, Emily Danscak and Mary Ribic.

She is survived by her children, Allan (Meg) Henderson of Marietta, GA, and Janet (Dan) Niehaus of Easley, SC; six grandchildren, Colin and Jessica Henderson of Marietta, GA, Emily and Neil Konouchi of Nashville, TN, Blake and Emily Henderson of Smyrna, GA, James Niehaus of Apex, NC, Joseph and Zoe Niehaus of Albany, NY, and Kevin and Misuzu Sakai of Japan.
