Raymond Earl Maddigan of Munhall, age 73, made the journey home to meet the Lord on the morning of June 29, 2024. He went peacefully surrounded by his family listening to one of his favorite artists, Norah Jones. He is preceded in death by his father, John (Jack) Maddigan. He is survived by his mother Alice (Redpath) Maddigan, his wife, Shirley (Shanoski), his sons Shane (Michelle) Maddigan, and Michael (Nicole) Maddigan, his daughters Allison (Shane) Blewitt, and Cara (Steve) Moser, his grandchildren Marissa (Nate), Grace, Kyler, Nathan, Jackson, Addison, Maya and Ava, his great- grandson Atlas, his sisters Karen (the late Rege) Martin, and Coleen (Matthew) Wierzchowski, his brother Jack (the late Lisa) Maddigan, numerous cousins, extended family, and friends.
He was a member of the Munhall class of 1968 where he met and fell in love with his beautiful wife of 53 years, Shirley, or “Shirl” as he often called her. Upon graduation from high school, he attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and settled in Munhall to raise his family.
Ray loved to spend as much time golfing as possible. He could regularly be found in Conneaut Lake enjoying family time, attending a sporting event for one of his grandchildren, or taking care of his garden. He was always ready with kind words or encouragement for whoever needed it.
The family will greet visitors at Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home inc., 3501 Main St. Munhall PA, on Tuesday July 2, from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm, and a mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday July 3, at 10 am at St. Therese of Lisieux Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Munhall.
May the road rise to meet you and the wind be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rain fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
