Raymond “Ray” Balint of West Mifflin, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the age of 75.
Ray is survived by his sons, Neil R. (Amanda) Balint of North Las Vegas, NV, and Brian J. (Amy) Balint; granddaughter, Scarlett of North Huntingdon, PA; grandson, Calvin (Kim) Crow; and great-granddaughter, Layla; brother, John Balint of Meadville, PA; partner, Judi Radaci of Homestead, PA, along with her sons, Scott and Todd; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Mary Jane (O’Shurak) Balint; beloved wife of 34 years, Lana E. (Korhnak) Balint; son, Marcus Crow; brothers, Robert and James Balint; and sister, Patricia Porter.
Ray was born in Pittsburgh, PA, raised in Munhall, PA, and currently resided in West Mifflin, PA. He worked as a pipefitter for U.S. Steel for 21 years followed by 20 years as a maintenance man for Peoples Gas Company. He was especially proud of his 26 years of military service in the U.S. Army Reserves where he achieved the rank of E-9 Command Sergeant Major. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his weekly golfing group, and cherished spending as much time as possible at the lake (Pymatuning) during the summer months.
Private Funeral Arrangements are being prepared by the Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA, 15120. Family and friends are welcomed to a Memorial Mass at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, 363 W. 11th Ave, Homestead, PA 15120, on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 10:00 AM. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. A luncheon will follow at the church. In closing, Ray wanted everyone to know that he looked good, he looked like himself, and was in good spirits given the circumstances.
