Rev. Mark W. Glasgow

Rev. Mark W. Glasgow, of Pittsburgh, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven after a lifetime of Service to the Catholic Church on June 14, 2023, at the age of 88.

He was born on April 22, 1935 in Youngstown, OH, to Mark Willis and Helen (Riley) Glasgow.

He attended the Boardman Elementary and St. Ann Elementary Schools; Bethel High School and St. Vincent Prep; Grove City College; St. Vincent College, where he received his BA in 1958; and the St. Vincent Seminary where he received his MA in 1978. He was ordained and incardinated into the Diocese of Pittsburgh on May 19, 1962 by Bishop John Wright at the St. Paul Cathedral of Pittsburgh, PA.

During his tenure, he acted as Parochial Vicar at St. Cyril of Alexandria Parish in the North Side from 1962 - 1966, St. Bernard Parish in Mt. Lebanon from 1966 - 1970, and St. Peter in the North Side from 1970 - 1974; Administrator at the St. Paschal Mission Parish and St. Louis Parish in West Sunbury, Epiphany Mission Parish in Boyers, and St. Alphonsus Parish in Murrinsville from 1974 - 1983; Pastor and Co-Administrator at St. Peter Parish in the South Side from 1983 - 1992; Military Chaplain at the V.A. Hospital in Oakland from 1988 - 2021; and Moderator of Team Ministry at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Homestead from 1992 - 1994.

He resided at St. Maximilian Kolbe from 1994 until his retirement from Service on September 1, 2021.

He was also a member of the Priest Council from 1968 - 1970 and acted as a Spiritual Director of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul from 1986 - 1991.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, 10 AM, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Homestead. Rev. Glasgow will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery, Munhall.
