Richard G. Fialkovich of West MIfflin left us to be with his Lord and Savior on March 9, 2021. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was 86. Born May 15, 1934, he is the son of the late Helen (Ondo) and George Fialkovich of Braddock. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Helen (Dzvonik) Fialkovich. He was a proud father to his son David (Denise) Fialkovich and was a devoted Pap to his two precious granddaughters Bailey Nicole Fialkovich and Bethany Lynn Fialkovich. Referred to as uncle Dick, or "Dickie", Richard is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will forever be remembered as a very special, kind, and generous man that everyone was glad to know. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Richard remained a faithful lifelong member of St. Johns Cathedral in Munhall. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a proud West Mifflin Police Officer and detective for 32 years and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a member of the West Mifflin Area School Board for 12 years where he served as President and school director. Richard was a member of the West Mifflin Lions Club for 40 years where he served as Secretary and President. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion.
Friends will be received Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home Inc. 3501 Main St. Munhall, Sunday 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held Monday 10 AM at St. John the Baptist Cathedral, Munhall, PA. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Father Andrew Deskevich officiating. Internment to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery.
