Obituary
Richard S. Holoman, of West Mifflin, passed peacefully of natural causes at his home, surrounded by his beloved family on December 17, 2020, at the age of 85. Richard had an avid love of sports, and spent many afternoons as a local softball and baseball umpire. He was a devout fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Following his retirement after a 32-year career as a crane operator at US Steel, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, and creating memories with his family in his free time. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Richard was the loving husband of 64 years to Patricia (Ehnot) Holoman; devoted father of Timothy (Leslie) Holoman, James (Jennifer) Holoman, and Tricia (David) Derry; cherished grandfather of Heather Jade (Brandon) Holoman-Smith, Thomas (Emily) Holoman, Brendan (Amanda Guglielmo) Derry, Lindsay (Nick) Wynn, and Hannah (Matt Williams) Derry; treasured great-grandfather of Henry, Sutton, Charles, Louis, Laylynn, and Gage; son of the late Michael and Mary (Homa) Holoman; brother of Patricia (the late Joseph) Ruscak, Jeanne (Ronald) Evagues, Dorothy Karichko, Steven (Rita), Irene (the late John) Watts, and the late Albert, Leonard (Theresa survives), Robert, Thomas, Mary Ann, and Michael Holoman. He is also survived by generations of loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends received following current guidelines on Saturday, December 19, 2020 11 AM - 3 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will follow at 3 PM at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, St. Agnes Church, West Mifflin, where Richard had faithfully served as an usher.
