At 84 years of age, Robert was called home by his Heavenly Father of Monday, June 12, 2023, following a brief but difficult struggle with several illnesses. Bob was predeceased by his beloved parents, George and Anastasia E. Wydo and his cherished sister, Diane Wydo. He is survived by many adoring cousins, nephews, and nieces. He will also be missed by the many friends he made and kept in touch with. Bob was a proud graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and a particularly avid fan of Pitt football. He also closely followed all Pittsburgh’s professional sports teams, especially the Pirates and Penguins. Bob could speak knowledgeably for hours on Pittsburgh sports history, and enjoyed lively discussions with those that held a different point of view from his. Additionally, Bob was well-read, could speak on a wide range of topics, and had numerous stories to share with others. He was a member of St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church in McKeesport. Funeral arrangements for our dear cousin and uncle are being handled by SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday, June 15th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, where a Panachida Service will be held at 7:30 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 16th at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church, 330 Shaw Avenue McKeesport, PA 15132. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. All services will be officiated by Archpriest Dimitri D. Ermakov, Rector. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church.
